Obituary of Virginia M. Allen

Virginia M. Allen, 87, of Lake George, NY formerly Pueblo, CO , passed away peacefully, Friday, May 13, 2016. Born March 11, 1929 in Pueblo, CO, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Josephine (Venditti) Thomas. She married Alvin (Tiny) Allen on April 30, 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado and enjoyed many years together until his passing February, 2008. Virginia was a loving mother of five girls while supporting her husband in the cattle business. In retirement together they created a successful concession business traveling to several state fairs and events. Her hobbies include: crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren as well as making lap blankets for nursing homes. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and finch at the bird feeders, cooking, canning and baking for her family and friends and reading books. Virginia is predeceased by: her beloved husband Alvin (Tiny), and her daughter Carolyn (Rogers) Welling, her parents, her sister Vera Thomas, her brothers; Charles and Joseph Thomas. She is survived by: her brother Fred Thomas of Pueblo, Colorado, Four daughters: Kathy Foulk, (Gene) of Parker Colorado, Margaret Robinson, (Tom) of Lake George, NY, Sandy Licon, (Andy) of Amarillo, TX and Cyndi Allen of St. Petersburg, FL.; Ten grandchildren: Jennifer Criger, Jimmy Rogers, Michelle Burkey, Paul, Matthew, and Katie Foulk, Ryan and Tyler Robinson, Michael and Matthew Licon ; as well as Twelve great-grandchildren; Kennedy, Kaydence, Colin, Cheyene, Levi, Brandon, Jack, Alice, Shelby, Kyla, Kamryn, and Sophia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a time to be announced at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 S. Aspen Rd, Pueblo, CO 81006. Rite of Committal will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family.
