Glyn Thomas Alexander, 48, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, following a long illness.
Born June 29, 1966, in Watertown, he was the son of Roxane J. (St. Mary) Alexander of West Palm Beach, FL, and the late Dr. William H. Alexander.
Glyn was raised in Lyons Falls and graduated from South Lewis High School. He studied Music Education at Syracuse University and Roberts Wesleyan College.
He was employed by several resorts throughout the years, from Las Vegas, to Rehoboth Beach, DE, and locally working for the Sagamore Resort for many years, and most recently Glens Falls Hospital.
Glyn had the ability to light up any room he walked into with his contagious smile and outgoing personality; these qualities helped him achieve a successful career in Hotel and Hospitality Management. He will certainly be missed by all of those who knew him.
In addition to his father, Glyn was predeceased by his cousins, Ellen St. Mary and Alex Alexander, and his trusty companion, his dog, Sammie.
Besides his mother, he is survived by five siblings, Billie Jean Kinney and her husband, John, of Syracuse, Guy Alexander and his wife, Marlene of Santa Maria, CA, John Alexander and his wife, Lisa, of Warrensburg, Alison Hobin and her husband, Shawn, of Baldwinsville, and Suzanne Alexander of Marcellus; his beloved nieces and nephews, Jaclyn and Megan Kinney, Jonathan, David and his wife, Kate, and Ashley Alexander, Chad, Scott, and Caroline Hobin, Bill Alexander, and Alexandra and Roxana Novak; a great-nephew, Benjamin; and great-niece, Claire. He also leaves behind several cousins, his best friend Maureen, and countless special friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his beautiful life will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
No calling hours are scheduled.
