Kevin F. Colton, 59, of Murphy Rd., passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 15, 2014 at Friends Lake.
Born July 9, 1955 in Glens Falls he was the son of Herbert and Joan (Buckley) Colton of Chestertown.
He attended Johnsburg Central School before joining the Operating Engineer Union 106. Kevin also worked throughout the country, installing and repairing conveyer belts, with his good friend, Bernie Baker.
He was an avid and excellent skier, who spent much of his time on Gore Mountain and various Vermont slopes; in his youth he competed in free style competitions.
Kevin enjoyed animals and the outdoors, as well as fishing; he acted as Bill Carlozzi’s Captain’s Mate aboard the “Naughty Lady” on Lake Champlain and Lake George.
He was an enthusiastic and imaginative cook, who loved inventing new meals to share with his family.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Nettie and John Buckley, and a sister, Beth (Colton) Gapp.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by a brother, Gary Colton of Clifton Park; his loving aunt, Anne Tougas and her husband, Alan of Richmond, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Kevin’s family from 1 to 3 pm, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 3 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family at St. James Cemetery, North Creek.
