Obituary of Richard B. TenEyck

OLMSTEDVILLE:
Richard B. TenEyck, formerly of Beacon, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital, following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born in Beacon, NY, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Mary E. (VanNorstand) TenEyck.
Richard married Kathleen Perkins at their present home in Olmstedville on December 26, 1998.
Following his graduation from Beacon High School, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960, where he was assigned to the USS KIDD DD661, before his honorable discharge in 1964.
He enjoyed spending time on his boat, “FISHWISH”, he was an avid sportsman, and a painter, who loved to travel and work on his property.
After several years of dedicated service, Richard retired from NABISCO in Beacon. He was a member of WH MASE Hook and Ladder Fire Department in Beacon, a life member of the Greenhaven Fish and Game Club in Fishkill, and a member of the former Dutchess Boat Club.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his aunt, Mary Jane TenEyck, and his uncle, Louie TenEyck.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen TenEyck of Olmstedville; his sons, Brian TenEyck, and his companion, Melissa Mann, of Olmstedville, and Patrick Allen and his wife, Lucinda, of Littleton, CO; a daughter, Jessica Perkins, of Gold Hill, NC. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Brendon TenEyck, Zachary, Daniel, Emily, and Sarah Allen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Richard’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled.
A memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11 am , Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, North Creek, with Father John O’Kane officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Richard’s memory to Minerva Rescue Squad, Minerva, NY 12857
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Tower 3 at the Glens Falls Hospital and Dr. John Sawyer.
