Obituary of Delia Flores Pennock

Warrensburg: Delia Flores Pennock, 76, of Catherine Street passed away peacefully Monday, December 9, 2013 at her home, following a long illness with her loving family by her side. Born February 11, 1937 in Laredo, TX she was the daughter of the late Daniel Sr. and Alicia Flores. After her graduation from Martin High School in Laredo, TX, Delia was employed by Guarantee Radio Station. Delia met Richard E. Pennock, Sr., the love of her life, while he was stationed at Laredo Air Force Base; the couple eloped to Mexico to marry on November 16, 1958, before renewing their vows at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in the early 1970’s. Delia and her expanding family relocated to Warrensburg, Richard’s hometown in 1959. She was a dedicated employee at C.R. Bard for over 25 years. Delia enjoyed spending time with her family, following her husband and son’s racing, NASCAR, and traveling in the family’s motor home with her dogs, Chula and Ginger by her side. She loved cooking and baking cheesecake during the Holidays, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joys. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Maggie Nutt and Diama Pena, and a nephew, Antonio Flores. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Richard E. Pennock, Sr. of Warrensburg; her children, Debbie Clark and her husband, Kevin of Brooksville, FL, Dianne Butler and her husband, Frank of Warrensburg, Richard E. Pennock, Jr. of Queensbury, Dennis Pennock and his wife, Cheryl, also of Queensbury; grandchildren, Jamie Martindale, Delia Butler, Kristin Irish, Devin Pennock, Lauren Pennock, Codi Pennock, and Jordan Pennock; great-grandchildren, Ryan Jean Cross, Dominique Tabano, and Damien Irish; her brothers, Daniel Flores, Jr., Apolonio Flores, Antonio Flores, Leo Flores, and Fernando Flores. Delia also leaves behind several nieces, nephew, and cousins. Friends may call on Delia’s family from 10 am to 12 pm, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home with Fr. Paul Cox, officiating. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Delia’s memory to SPCA of Upstate NY, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
