Obituary of Nancy Marie Morrison

Warrensburg: Nancy M. Morrison, 57, of Hudson Street, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 29, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 30, 1949 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Gloria (Beauchene) Harris of Warrensburg and the late Hugh Patrick Morrison Jr. She graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1967 and the Glens Falls Hospital School of Nursing in 1969 as an LPN. In 1992, Nancy graduated with honors from Adirondack Community College with an Associates degree in psychology. Nancy worked as a private duty pediatric nurse until she retired in the fall of 2005 to care for her husband Bill. Throughout her career, she touched the lives of many patients and their families with her loyal and compassionate care. Nancy will be remembered by her family and friends for her unwavering faith, eternal optimism, strong will, and quick wit. She married John W. Tucker on July 3, 1970. He passed away in December of 1996 after 27 years of marriage. She married William LaFountain Sr. on June 28, 2003 in Warrensburg. Nancy loved the Adirondack Mountains and could often be found summiting the tallest peak or gliding on skis through snow-laden valleys. Her love of nature revealed itself within her lush flower gardens, where she would work tirelessly cultivating beautiful combinations of color. Nancy also enjoyed experiencing new places from Europe and Ireland to the beaches of Cancun and Martha’s Vineyard. Nancy was a communicant of Saint Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Warrensburg. Besides her mother, Nancy is survived by her beloved daughter, Brandy Beth Murphy and husband, John of Ballston Spa; sister, Harriet M. Bunker and husband, Ron of Warrensburg; sister, Alice Semon and husband, Tom of Virginia Beach; and brother, Timothy Morrison and wife, Gloria of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Meghan, Alaina, and Connor Murphy. Nancy is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Nancy Fuller and husband, Matthew, Joshua Bunker and wife, Carey, Christina Bunker, Andrew Morrison, Shannon Morrison, Ted Semon and Karolyne Semon; great nephews, Alexander and Rhoan Bunker. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel C. Kredentser, Colleen Murray FNP-C and the entire staff at St. Peters for their care and friendship over the past eight years. Friends may call on Nancy’s family from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be conducted 11 am Wednesday at the church with Fr. Paul Cox presiding. Rite of committal will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Warrensburg at the convenience of the family.
