Douglas E. Edmunds, 84, formerly of Leonard St. passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Glens Falls Center for Rehab. and Nursing following a long illness.
Born May 23, 1933 in Wallingford, VT, he was the son of George and Mary (Jacobs) Edmunds.
He played guitar and sang as a young man at the Wells House in Pottersville. He and his first wife, Cynthia Graves had a daughter, Alonna and two sons, John and Lary.
He worked in the woods as a pulp truck driver before spending many years as a machinist at Native textiles.
He married Bernice Walden in 1960 and the couple enjoyed camping, traveling, trips to Maine, hunting, fishing and yodeling. He was an avid CBer and was known as pipe stem. He and Berncie had a daughter, Angela Kilmartin.
He is predeceased by his wife, Bernice, daughter, Angela, and son, Lary Kim, brothers, Ralph, Jim and Ken; sisters, Ruth Raymond and Betty Gates.
Survivors include his daughter, Alonna Bolio, son, John Edmunds; grandchildren, Holly and Adam Bolio, and Zachary Kilmartin; great grandchildren, Kayla, Kianna, Madison and Tyler and several nieces, nephews, and cousin and in laws.
A graveside service to celebrate Doug’s life will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery later this spring.
