Althea was a student at Newcomb Central School for a short time.
I was sitting in my classroom when there was a knock on the door. Deverne Rist, bus driver wanted to speak to me. He said Althea didn't have a date for the prom. I didn't know her very well but said I would take her. (never asked Deverne why he picked me to ask)
ALthea was so pretty in her gown, I was tongue tied and we probably didn't talk much.
Never saw her after she left town but still remember how pretty she was.

We were so very sorry to read of Althea's passing. We knew that she wasn't well but we did not get to see her after she went to the home. She was a lady that you all could be proud of and we wanted to tell you that. She was very friendly to all and an extremely nice person to know. Please accept our sympathies. We will remember her as the nice person she was to us.
With sincere sympathy. Tom&Nancy

May you find comfort in the memories that are yours to cherish always, and strength in the companionship of those who share your loss.... I have learned never to underestimate the healing power we all have. It is always there to be used for the highest good. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4) May it be a source of inner strength to know that there's a loving God watching over you, and that, throughout this time of need, He'll stay close by your side. I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith.-2Timothy 4:7. As for me, I will lie down that I may sleep; I shall certainly awake, for Jehovah himself keeps supporting me. -Psalms 3:5
