Queensbury:
Mioara R. “Marie” Auerbach, 85, of Pinewood Avenue, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at her home, following a brief illness.
Born April 13, 1932 in Iasi, Romania, she was the daughter of the late Alexandru and Josephine (Eraclide) Rallet.
She arrived in the United States with her husband, Arnold Auerbach, in 1970. The couple resided in Queens, NY, where she ran a very successful European Skin Care Studio in Manhattan until 1986. In 1988 they relocated to Queensbury, and she continued to operate her business from her home; over the years she built up a nice clientele and made many friends along the way.
Mioara loved life and always had a smile on her face. She was an avid reader, in several languages, who enjoyed classical music and played the piano beautifully. She loved animals and her dearest companion was her beloved Fifi, a toy poodle, but most of all, she cherished the company of her friends and relatives with a Turkish coffee and good stories.
In addition to her parents, Mioara is predeceased by her husband, who passed away in 1994.
She is survived by her niece, Joana Marusceac and her husband, Ioan, and great-niece, Monica Marusceac. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Romania and Israel.
Mioara will be remembered as an elegant, kind, always proper lady, who never wanted to burden anyone. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Friends may call on Mioara’s family from noon to 2 pm, Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 2 pm, Sunday, at the funeral home with Father Philip Begley, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in South Glens Falls, officiating.
Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family in Warrensburg Cemetery.
