Obituary of Robert E. Johnson

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Creek: Robert E. Johnson, the “Cowboy” rode away, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital. He was a rebellious 68-year-old. Born March 9, 1948 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Stephen Johnson and Virginia (Reed) O’Connor. Following his graduation from Johnsburg Central School, he gained employment with Delta Airlines and began his family in Denver, CO with Kathleen Waddell. Following the passing of his mother in 1997, Bob relocated back to his childhood home in North Creek and enjoyed his employment at Gore Mountain as a lift operator. Those that knew him appreciated his good humor, great smile, and his love of life. He was a friend to all and loved nothing more than his times shared with them, the open road, the special ladies in his life, and a cold Bud Light. Bob married Saundra Swann on August 1, 2010 in North River. In addition to Rob’s parents, he is predeceased by his granddaughter, Kourtney Carlile, his step-father, James O’Connor, his uncle, Bradley Reed and cousins, Kate and Deb. He is survived by his partner in crime, Saundra Swann of North Creek; his daughter, Kristen Carlile and her husband, Billy, of Thornton, CO; daughter, “Jake” Johnson and her husband, JJ Pellini, of Denver, CO; granddaughters, Avery and Gianna Pellini; his aunt, Barb Douglas of North River, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Bob’s family from 4 to 6 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 6 pm at the funeral home. Friends are EXPECTED to bring a memory to share. If you can’t make it, his family requests you raise a cold one to Bob at sunset. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of blood donations in Bob’s memory.
