Obituary of Jill K. Raymond

Glens Falls: Jill K. Raymond, 42, of Glen Street, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, August 13, 2007 after being stricken at her home. Born March 6, 1965 in Dover, DE, she was the daughter of Richard Raymond of Eldon, MO and Virginia (McAllister) Raymond of North Creek. Jill lived with a disability following a traumatic brain injury as a child. In spite of that, she was a self-reliant person, who valued her independence. She worked for many years at Continental Insurance and made her own home in Glens Falls since 1988. Jill’s first priority was her family. She enjoyed a very large family with dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her brother, Russell Raymond predeceased her. In addition to her parents, Jill also leaves behind her three siblings, Richard Raymond and his wife, Jennifer of Fairview Heights, Illinois; Nancy Shapiro and her husband, Glenn of Longmeadow, Mass.; Jeffrey Raymond and his wife, Marylea of Glens Falls; Jill’s ten nieces and nephews were her pride and joy, Jamie Cox, Amber Raymond, Kory Raymond, Ryan Shapiro, Lucas Raymond, Zachary Raymond, Jessica Shapiro, Matthew Shapiro, Tyler Raymond, Christie Raymond and one great nephew, Camden Cox. Friends may call on Jill’s family from 6-9 pm today (Wednesday) at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. A wake service will take place at 7 pm during the visitation at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 am Thursday at St. James RC Church in North Creek with Fr. John O’Kane, Pastor officiating. Rite of committal will follow in St. James Cemetery, North Creek.
