Obituary of Philip D. Tucker

LAKE GEORGE Philip David Tucker Sr., 66, of Old State Road, Lake George, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born March 31, 1948, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Silas and Julia (Walker) Tucker. Phil was a lifelong resident of the area and served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. For years, Phil worked as a representative for the local District Council 9 chapter of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Even after a recent retirement, he continued to assist the union in various capacities. He was a dedicated fan of the Dodgers (Brooklyn and L.A.) and everything baseball. Phil was an active supporter of local baseball, including the Golden Eagles and the Glens Falls Area Baseball Society and Hall of Fame. He was predeceased by both of his parents, Silas and Julia Tucker as well as his brother Randy Jene Tucker. Survivors include his son Philip Tucker Jr. and his wife Shaun Dreisbach, his daughter, Christine Rate, his four grandchildren: Campbell and Jackson Tucker, Cyrus Leon and Julian Philip Rate; one sister, Nancy Farrar of Lake George; one brother, Terry Tucker of Warrensburg as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his extended family and friends. Friends may call on Phil’s family from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Spring burial with military honors will take place at 10 am, Saturday, May 2, 1015 in North Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George.
