Please share a memory of Bradley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Bradley C. Persons, 73, of River St., went into the arms of the Lord, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home. Born June 23, 1941 in Graphite, he was the son of the late Rayburn L. and Gertrude M. (Monroe) Persons. At the age of two, Bradley’s family moved to Brant Lake, where he later attended Horicon Central School and was employed by Tumble Brook Farm. Bradley was a communicant of the Horicon Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Youth Group Leader, alongside Jackie and Royce Remmington, and Edrie Egan; they were known as the Jet Cadets, Live Wires, and Builders Crusades. Bradley was a Cub Scout Master and Boy Scout Leader for many years, and a past member of the Horicon Volunteer Fire Department, prior to being badly burned in a fire truck accident. He briefly relocated to Schenectady, where he worked for City Mission before marrying Helen (Hibbert-Millington), on October 14, 1989. The couple resided in Warrensburg, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He took great pride in raising his step-granddaughters, Carol and Florence Millington, who affectionately called him Pa. In addition to his parents, Bradley was predeceased by his brothers, Byron, Bernard, and Bernis Persons, and his sisters, Beverly Knickerbocker, and Bernice and Bonita Persons. He is survived by his wife, Helen Persons of Warrensburg; his twin brother, Brandt C. Persons of Brant Lake; a sister, Brenda J. Wright of Glens Falls; three step-children, Samuel Millington and his fiancée, Lisa Meader, of Gloversville, Howard Millington and his wife, JoAnn, of PA, and Ida Bonesteel and her fiancé, Arthur Meader, of Corinth; and his mother-in-law, Florence Suttle of Saratoga Springs. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bradley’s wish was for his family to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Friends may call on Bradley’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, 3850 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 4 pm, at the church, with Pastor Ron Burdett, officiating. Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family in Elbow Cemetery, Brant Lake. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guest book and condolences.
