Obituary of Albert A. Moffitt

Chestertown: Albert A. “Sonny” Moffitt, 84, of Rob Moffitt Road, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 31, 2017 at The Pines at Glens Falls following a brief illness. Born July 24, 1933 in Chestertown, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Tennyson) Moffitt. Sonny worked as a logger for many years with Dubby Hill Logging and later in life, worked at Green Mansions as a handyman. He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, horseshoes, and socializing with family and friends. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Moffitt, and sister, Harriet Moffitt. He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Moffitt of Port Henry; grandsons Matthew and Colton Moffitt; siblings, Arthur Moffitt, Almeda Hill and Clara Denton, all of Chestertown; a special niece, Cindy Moffitt of Chestertown who always went above and beyond to make sure he was okay; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Sonny’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
