Warrensburg:
Edward P. Morrison, 79, of Schroon River Road, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on December 15, 1929 in Riverbank, he was the son of the late William and Cynthia (Hastings) Morrison.
Following his graduation from the Warrensburg Central School in 1948, he enlisted in the Army and served his country during the Korean War.
Edward worked at International Paper in Corinth until he became a self employed lumberman for 13 years.
He married Geneva Twiss on October 23, 1953.
In 1974, the couple moved to Florida where he worked for the Department of Transportation for 18 years until his retirement in 1991.
Edward enjoyed horses, Nascar, farming, and telling his “old time” stories.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his two daughters, Betty Ann Morrison and Marie Jean Olden.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Geneva Morrison; his son, William Morrison and his companion, Julia Norton of Chestertown; granddaughters, Darcy (Olden) Baker and her husband, Gary of Warrensburg; and Gina (Olden) Vinarski and her husband, Joby of Long Island; grandsons, Larry Morrison and his companion, Patti Jones of Harpersville; and William and Benjamin Morrison of Fort Ann; and his special niece, Corasue Gebo of Hudson Falls; along with several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call on Edwards’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery in the spring.
