Obituary of Frederick Kenneth Wendell

Please share a memory of Frederick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Creek: Riding his motorcycle on a smooth highway with the sun on his face, the wind at his back and his bass guitar slung over his shoulder Kenny our beloved son, soulmate, brother and friend joined the big party in the sky on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ken endured a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Living life to the fullest, Ken never once let cancer get him down. Ken graduated from Fort Edward high school, class of 1983. He served in the United States Navy Reserve, then worked in construction and later for the Scott Paper Company in Fort Edward. Following his dream and love of music, Ken moved to Florida where he wrote and performed music with moderate success in the Orlando area. He eventually started a career in the entertainment lighting business. Several years later Ken moved back to NY where he continued working in the lighting industry at Creative Stage Lighting in North Creek and then Revolution Lighting Company in Glens Falls. Kenny was a gentle, kind and big hearted soul. Other than spending time with his beloved family and friends he enjoyed fishing, diamond mining, riding his motorcycle, cooking, jamming with friends and playing with his dogs. He loved the great outdoors, swimming, tubing on the Schroon River and tying flies to fish in the sun for hours. He was an unofficial spokesman for the banjo minnow. Ken met his soulmate Leita Howe in 2014. They were united in a commitment ceremony on September 2nd 2018. Ken was predeceased by his dad George Normandin and maternal grandparents Bud and Eva. Left to cherish his memory is his soulmate Leita Howe and “unofficial” step daughter Chloe. His mom Helyn Normandin of Queensbury, sister Tori Riley(Kevin) of Kingsbury, brother George Normandin III (Kate) of Glens Falls, in-laws Erwin (Laura) Bradway JR of North Creek, sister in-law Bethanie (chipper) Baker of Bakers Mills, sister in-law Holly (Chris) Steady of North Creek. His nieces and nephews , the Riley crew, Chloe Jayne Collins, Annie, Lucy and Grant Normandin, Brandon and Marianna Baker and Christopher Steady. Along with many other family members and close family friends. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family played a very special part in his life, as did a special group of friends he considered family. A special thank you to the Warren County Public Health Nurse Danielle for all your heart felt and compassionate care visits. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at the Chestertown Conservation Club on Sunday February 17th 2019 from 11 am- 3 pm. A short ceremony will be held at 12. Please join us to share a fond memory and toast a life well lived as Ken did not want a stuffy old funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choosing in Ken’s name. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guest book and condolences.
