Obituary of Vincent A. Perez

Warrensburg: Vincent A. Perez, 81, formerly of Ridge Ave., passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Neville Center at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, MA following a long illness. Vince had been residing with his granddaughter, Diana Glass in Arlington, MA. Born January 22, 1926 in Riverside, CA., he was the son of the late Anastasio and Matilda Perez. Most of his life, he worked in the lumber business. He settled in the Warrensburg area and married Loretta Fish on July 26, 1947. The couple owned and operated V.A. Perez Dimensional Mill in Warrensburg for over 30 years. Vince was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s RC Church in Warrensburg and a member of the former Warrensburg Knights of Columbus. Many considered Vince to be a workaholic. When not working, he enjoyed attending Saratoga horse racing and watching wresting in TV. Besides his beloved wife of 52 years, one brother and two sisters have all predeceased him. Survivors include his children, Dawn Juckett and her husband, David of Indian Lake, Michael V. Moon and his wife, Diane of Warrensburg, Diana Glass and her husband, Jeff of Arlington, MA; his grandchildren, Timothy Baker of Bamberas, TX, Sharon Baker of Roswell, GA, Stephen Baker of Romulus, Michael Baker and Kelley Baker both of Queensbury, Amy Langworthy of Warrensburg, Jody Monroe of Clifton Park, and Janine Havens of Ft. Edward; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Vince’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan of St. Cecilia’s RC Church officiating. Rite of committal will follow the service in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
