Warrensburg:
Nickolia N. “Nick” Zuboff, 76, of River Street, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home, following a long, courageous battle with COPD.
Born December 23, 1940 in Siberia, he was the son of the late Nikander and Katarina Zuboff.
After traveling with his parents and brother, Gregg, to the United States in 1963, Nick eventually settled in Warrensburg, where he became a well-known stone mason, and better known sportsman, telling his stories and teaching his skills to anyone who asked. If you didn’t know him by name, you would know him as the man at the river, fishing with one of his kids. When he wasn’t fishing, he could be found tending to his garden or spending time with his grandchildren. Nick’s smile and gentle nature will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his two beloved doggies.
Besides his parents, Nick is predeceased by his brother, Gregg, and like lifelong companion, Sandra DeLoria.
He is survived by his children, Jodie McGrath and her husband, Tom, of Dumfies, VA, Holly Hightower of Thurman, Otis Rumble of Glens Falls, Philip DeLoria of Warrensburg, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Nick’s family from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 6 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Andrews, Pastor of the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring in Warrensburg Cemetery.
