Obituary of Richard O. Tuttle

Richard O. Tuttle, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born November 16, 1933 in Sherburne, he was the son of the late Julian and Helen (Adams) Tuttle.
Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953, honorably serving his country for 20 years, before retiring as a Master Sergeant.
Following his military career, Richard was employed by Howard LaRose and Jointa Lime as a Scale Master in the quarry for many years.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren attending their sports games and concerts, travelling, hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR.
He was a member of the Beaver Damn Club in Grahamsville for many years, where he and his family enjoyed many trips. Richard and Joan enjoyed many vacations to Florida, York Beach and Wells, ME over the years.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his step-mother, Virginia Tuttle, a sister, Joanne Berryann, and a brother-in-law, Richard Berryann.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan Tuttle of Warrensburg; children, Richard Tuttle, Jr., and his wife, Toni, of Queensbury, Dale Tuttle and his companion, Colleen Brainard of Warrensburg; two grandsons, Christian and Connor Tuttle; sister-in-law, Arleene Persons and her husband, Doug, of Queensbury. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Richard’s request there will be no calling hours of funeral services scheduled.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted privately in Warrensburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Richard’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
