Obituary of Gary L. Baker

Athol/Maple Shade, NJ: Gary Lewis Baker, 63, of Estate Road, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home. Born January 14, 1951 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Carl L. and Doris G. (Hall) Baker. Gary was a graduate of Warrensburg Central School, Class of 1969, before serving in the United States Army National Guard. He was a career craftsman with a keen eye for a neat and clean finished product. Gary was employed early on by Tom Ramsay of Bolton Landing as a carpenter. He eventually took his talents, stating a new business in Monticello, then Mt. Laurel, NJ, where he worked until his death. Gary remained a country boy no matter where life took him; always having time to camp in the country or in his back yard. He enjoyed spending his Sundays watching the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Adam J. “Buzz” Baker, and a brother, Kenneth Baker. He is survived locally by a son, Gary Baker, II and his wife, Darcy, of Warrensburg, daughter, Kimberly Tucker and her husband, Silas, of Athol, and their mother, Ruth McNeill, also of Warrensburg; his wife, Julie Baker of Manhattan; children, Jeremy, Jared, and Deanndre Baker; stepson, Justin Schoonmaker, all of New Jersey; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Michael and Maclane Baker, Chloe and Hayleigh Springfield, and Silas and Thomas Tucker; a great-granddaughter, Sadeigh Fish; siblings, Carol Darrah and Gayle Braley, both of Warrensburg. He also leaves behind a close friend, Joanne Workman, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Gary's family from 5 to 6 pm, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
