Obituary of Alice D. Armstrong

Alice D. Armstrong 74 of North Creek went into the fathers loving arms on August 10,2014 while living in Hampton, VA.
Born June 25, 1940, she was the daughter of late Diana Carey.
Alice attended Pottersville Central School and in 1960 she met the love of her life Lee, and married and started a family. She became a baker of beautiful wedding, birthday, shower, and bridal cakes. She was also known for her delicious cooking skills and worked in several different restaurants in the area to, including Gore Mountain Ski Center. She also worked for many years at Gaslight Village in their fudge shop, making her homemade delicious fudges. Once she retired she cared for many elderly people in the area and babysat for various people in the area.
Besides her mother, Alice was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Lee Armstrong; daughter Darlene J. Armstrong Haynes; two sons: Greg Armstrong and Christopher L. Armstrong, and a sister, Leona Bump.
She was survived by daughter Deborah Yontz and husband, Jeff of Hampton, VA; daughter Penny Persons and husband, Jason of North Creek and son William Armstrong and wife Lisa of Johnsburg. Grandchildren: Benjamin, Anthony, Greg, Patrick, Dianna, Kaleb and Emily and two great grandchildren Montana and Jansen. A sister, Luella Burke of Great Bend NY and brother, Mark Armstrong of Long Lake NY, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Alice’s family from 4 to 5 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will follow the visitation at 5 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Allen, Pastor of the Sodom Community Church, officiating.
Expression of Sympathy may take the form of a donation in Alice's name to Alzheimer's Association of Northern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205.
