North River:
Robert Jeffrey Fosdick, age 64, died in his North River home on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, after a half-year battle with cancer.
Born December 16, 1949 in New York City, Jeff was raised Connecticut and met Carol at Wagner College on Staten Island before moving to the Adirondacks in 1976.
Throughout his life Jeff worked as a NYC cab driver, a policeman, publisher of the Barkeater magazine, and a building contractor. He was an avid reader, a colorful storyteller, and a devoted cook.
Survivors include his wife Carol, and his children, Arianne Fosdick, Josie Hollander, and Todd and Sheridan Millington. Jeff was predeceased by his daughter Meegan.
Jeff will be dearly missed. If it is true what the artist Bansky says about dying twice—once when the breath leaves your body, and once when your last friend speaks your name for the final time—then Jeff will live a good long life yet.
