Nancy Elizabeth (Graves) Alger, 77, of Bowen Hill Rd., was received into the arms of the Lord, Friday, July 4, 2014 at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born February 28, 1937 in Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Gordon N. and Marion M. (Mosher) Graves.
Nancy was a long time resident of Thurman, where she enjoyed the country life.
She married Harry M. Alger on August 27, 1969.
Nancy was employed by the Warrensburg Jr./Sr. High School in the cafeteria providing 32 years of dedicated service, prior to her retirement.
Nancy was a faithful member of the Solid Rock Assembly Church in Bolton Landing.
In addition to spending time with family, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and camping.
Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her son, David Alger, and a sister, JoAnn Harris.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harry Alger; nine children, Donald Cheney and his wife, Bonnie, Donna Hayes, Denise Hall, Dawn LaBarge and her husband, Joe, Shelia Pierce and her husband, Wes, Denise Hill and her companion, Brian Mott, Amy Shattuck, Alexis Bunzey and her husband, Doug, and Richard Alger; 30 grandchildren; 43 plus great-grandchildren; two brothers, one sister, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Friends may call on Nancy’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 5 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Skip Hults officiating.
Burial will be conducted privately in Warrensburg Cemetery.
