Obituary of Paula Golumb

Warrensburg: Paula Golumb, 86, of Lake Avenue, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 22, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born December 28, 1929 in Breznita, Romania, she was the daughter of the late Nicolae and Ioana (Sirbu) Golumb. Paula worked in the hydro electrical engineering field in Romania for over 30 years before relocating to the United States in 1982 and later settled in Warrensburg, and enjoyed the beauty of the Adirondacks. She was locally employed as a Real Estate Broker with LeCount Realty for 22 years. Paula was a formidable woman with a venturesome soul, who was an avid reader and loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, and gardening. She enjoyed bringing people together, was the life of the party, and enjoyed dancing. She is survived by her loving daughter, Daniela Pope and her husband, Adrian; beloved grandchildren, Sandra and Alexander Pope; a brother, Dr. Mircea Golimbu and his wife, Dr. Nata Golimbu; a sister, Eugenia Marinesco; and her nieces and nephews, Mircea and Cristi Enachescu, Alex Golimbu, and Irina Nagaraj. Friends may call on Paula’s family from noon to 2 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 am, Monday, at the funeral home with Father Philip Begley, officiating. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery. She will be forever in our hearts and we’ll miss you tremendously.
