Obituary of James W. McInnis

Warrensburg:
James W. McInnis, 73, formerly of Hannawa Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at his home.
Born December 1, 1940 in Thorold, Ontario, he was the son of the late James Ambrose and Irene (Moore) McInnis.
James attended St. Michael’s College in Toronto due to his affiliation with the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey organization.
Following his graduation from St. Michael’s, he attended St. Lawrence University where he played varsity hockey for three years.
While obtaining his Masters Degree, he coached the St. Lawrence University freshmen hockey team.
He married Bonita White on August 28, 1965 in Canton. The couple enjoyed 52 blissful years together until her passing in 2007 due to complications with Alzheimer’s disease.
James was employed by SUNY Canton as a Counselor/Director of the SUNY EOP (Equal Opportunity Program) until his retirement in 1996, after more than 40 years of dedicated employment.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife, Bonita McInnis, and his sister, Dee Holland.
He is survived by his children, Darin McInnis and his wife, Katie of Bridgewater, MA, Darcy McInnis and his wife, Kristine of Warrensburg, Jason McInnis and his wife, Jennie of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Sean and Ryan McInnis of Bridgewater, MA, Connor and Gabrielle McInnis of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Irene Emond of Thorold, Ontario; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At James’ request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
