Obituary of Sarah R. Blake

North Creek: Sarah R. Blake, 76, of Circle Ave., passed away, Saturday evening, January 13, 2007 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Born September 25, 1930 in Vergennes, VT, she was the daughter of the late Milicent Hagen and Charles Sears. Sarah married Roy Blake in 1949. The couple resided in Vermont and New York while raising their family of nine children. She worked at various establishments included the Fox Run Resort and Okemo Mt. Ski Resort in Ludlow, VT. She was considered a very faithful employee. She loved her husband, Roy, and took care of him during his final days battling cancer before passing away in 1975. She also loved life, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cooking, fishing, camping, blackberry picking and dogs and cats. Survivors include her children, Roy Blake of Queensbury, Frank Blake and his wife, Linda of Bennington, VT, Elaine Grinnelle and her husband, David of Argyle, Ray Blake and George Blake both of Greenwich, John Blake and his wife, Sherri of Greenwich, Walter Blake and his wife, Stephanie of Granville, Rosalie Allen and her husband, Ken of North Creek, Betty Allen of Queensbury, two brothers, Edward Sears and his wife, Ruth of Ferrisburg, VT, Leonard Sears and his wife, Sylvia of New Haven, VT; sister, Ann Giltrop and her husband, Richard of TX; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Sarah’s family from 5-7 pm Tuesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Allen, Pastor of the Sodom Community Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Gage Cemetery, Ferrisburg, VT on Wednesday.
