I enjoyed working in Engles' for Cal--he could carry on a conversation with anyone about anything. He was always busy working on one project or another, going to or from somewhere. The cigar was clamped between his teeth and he would grin around it as he stopped to check in. He quietly helped many people in his town. I'll miss him. Condolences to all the Engles.

John and Steve, you were my boyhood friends growing up on Oak Street. Although I left Warrensburg over 40 years ago, I remember your father well as the man in the kitchen at Cal's Diner. He certainly lived a full life and made numerous contributions to the village; I'm sure his presence will be missed.
To you and to all the Engle family I offer my condolences on your Dad's passing

John, Steve & Brian and families. To say this is a sad day is understated. Your father was one of the greatest men I have ever had the priviledge to know. We all loved him for so many different reasons and only you can understand that better than most, what that means to have a father that was always there for you and everyone he knew. He is resting in Peace with your Mom that I know for certain. The instant place in Heaven is saved special I believe for people like your parents were. A friend to all who will be so missed. Legends only come along rarely but your Dad gave life his all and he deserved all the respect, admiration and accolades he received in his lifetime. God Bless you all and the Lord's Peace be with each of you as you mourn and celebrate the life of a true spirit that we all knew as CAL. S. Adrienne Hull
