Obituary of Harold M. Flynn

Warrensburg: Harold M. Flynn, 89, of River Street, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born July 7, 1924 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Olive (Harvey) Flynn. At the age 18, Harold enlisted in the United States Army where served and saw combat with the 78th Infantry “Lighting Division” in England, Holland, Frances and Germany. Harold was a carpenter with Local 229 in Glens Falls and an active member of Haskell Brothers Post 4821 VFW in Warrensburg. Besides his parents, his first wife, Clarrisa and his son, Fred have also predeceased him. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Carol Flynn of Warrensburg, “Goodbye great Irish lover”; his children, Clarissa Reynolds of Warrensburg, Janet Freebern and her husband, Tim of LaGrangeville, and Patrick Flynn of Warrensburg; his sister, Karen Monroe and her husband, Wayne of Chestertown; grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Erika, Meredith, Nevin, Jonathan, Adam, John, Kevin, and Spencer; and step-children, Linda, James, and Marianne. He also leaves behind several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. At Harold’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. A private graveside service with military honors will take place at the convenience of his family in Warrensburg Cemetery.
