Obituary of Vivian M. Foote

Olmstedville: Vivian M. Foote, 70, of Morse Memorial Highway, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. Born December 11, 1943 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Venita (Bombard) Barrett. Raised in Hudson Falls, Vivian and her younger sister, Patricia Tifft attended St. Paul’s grade school and then graduated Hudson Falls High School. She worked as a waitress in the area and met her husband to be, Robert A. Foote. The couple married in June of 1975. Along with raising her sons, Vivian worked with the Cafeteria Staff at the Minerva Central School for over 25 years. She enjoyed belonging to the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing Home Auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes included tending to her flower garden and dining out with her husband and friends. Besides her parents, her sister, Patricia and her first husband, William Winch have both predeceased her. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Robert A. Foote of Olmstedville; her sons, Robert Winch of Texas, Jeffrey Winch and his companion, Marianne Tollgreve of Saratoga Springs, Allen Winch and his wife, Teasha of Chateauguay, Barry Foote and his wife, Donette of Elmer, MO; brother-in-law, Larry Tift of Hudson Falls; grandchildren, Matthew and Mandy Winch, Taylor and Paisleigh Winch, Nichole, Easton and Cassie Foote, Becca Lynn, Jessie, Brock and Jenna Beth as well as one great granddaughter. Friends may call on Vivian’s family from 4-7pm Tuesday evening, January 14 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted 11am Wednesday at the Minerva Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Dyson officiating. Burial will take place in the Minerva Baptist Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Minerva EMS.
