Obituary of Carolyn Mary Hall

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
South Bay/Fort Ann: Carolyn Mary Hall, 58, formerly of South Bay, went to be with God and was reunited with her heavenly family, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Haynes House of Hope in Granville, following a courageous and respectful battle with cancer. Born July 10, 1958, in Newcomb, she was the daughter of the late William I. Gregory, Sr. and Helen I. (Lawrence) Gregory. Carolyn grew up in Newcomb and graduated from Newcomb Central School in 1976. She met the love of her life, Anthony Hall, and spent 35 beautiful years together, uniting in marriage on August 9, 1997. Carolyn was a simple woman, who above all, believed in the value of family. Her favorite pastime was arranging the next family get together, and spending time overlooking the Mount Hope Brook on the rock wall that her husband built. She enjoyed her countless pets, especially her dog, Whitey, weeding her raspberry bushes and working in her garden, various crafts, and adult coloring later in life with her daughters, Mary Ann and Victoria. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is predeceased by a sister, Laurie Ann Gregory, brother, Michael John Gregory, amazing grandson, Anthony Smith and step-son Marc Anthony Gerald Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Tony Hall of Fort Ann; four loving children, Mary Ann Washburn and her companion, Christopher Flint, Kevin Washburn and his wife, Crystal, Michael Hall and his companion, Victoria Studnicky, and Tonya Hathway and her companion, LeRoy Bills, Jr.; five grandchildren, Cassandra Washburn, Steven and Caleb “K Bob” Smith, and Austin and Aleesha Washburn; and her brother, William Gregory Jr. and his wife, Kim, of North Carolina. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Friends may call on Carolyn’s family from 2 to 4, pm, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 4 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family. Carolyn’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Haynes House of Hope, High Peaks Hospice, and C. R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion she received throughout her illness. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Carol’s memory to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
