Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Katherine A. Ross, 83, of Rays Road, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 11, 1935 in Hague, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Carrie (Dunkley) Conlon. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Hague High School. She met Garry Ross at the family farm in Johnsburg and eventually wed on December 8, 1957. Katherine was a fun loving, quick witted, sharp tongued, life of the party but also an extremely dedicated woman and worked very hard raising her four children as well as several of her siblings. She worked various jobs in the area and most notably, the Outlet Barn in Warrensburg for nearly 20 years. She cherished time with her family and friends, always hosting memorable holiday gatherings. She also enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, quilting, seek-a-word books, but most importantly her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her siblings: Roberta Conlon, Ruth Ives, Charles John Conlon, Mabel Remington, Frank Conlon, and William Conlon. She is survived by her beloved children: Terry Ross of Warrensburg, Randy Ross and his wife, Kim of Warrensburg, Nancy Ross of Lake George, Kelly Vaisey and her husband, Robert of Chestertown; grandchildren: Matthew Hall, Stacy (James) McGarrah, Jason (Tate) Hopkins, Robert Vaisey, Gabrielle Vaisey, and Garry Ross; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn McGarrah, Josselyn McGarrah, Adalyn Hopkins, and Brooklyn Hopkins; her siblings: Fletcher (Berneice) Conlon, Doris Dunkley, and Richard Conlon, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Katherine’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 5 at the funeral home. A reception will follow the funeral service at the Warrensburg Masonic Temple Lodge 425, 3893 Main St., Warrensburg. Katherine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her late husband’s extended family for the continued support for so many years and during these trying times. They would also like to thank Lynn Keil, Dr. Gillani, and mostly, her “adopted” sons Dean Ackley and Archie Fuller. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the C. R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital.
