Albert E. Bayer, 77, of Queensbury Ave., passed away unexpectedly, Monday, December 3, 2007 at his home.
Born February 20, 1930 in Bay Shore, he was the son of the late Ernest and Agnes (Smath) Bayer.
In 1976, “Albie”, as he was known to his friends and his wife, Susan moved from East Islip, Long Island to Queensbury and opened the Country Mouse, an antique and restoration shop on Queensbury Ave. He was noted for his expertise in the restoration and refinishing of antique furniture and his willingness to share his time and talents with whoever asked for them.
Albie leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Susan (Hauser) Bayer of Queensbury; his two sisters, Elsie Raynor and her husband, Ken of Queensbury, and Agnes Ceroli of Lincoln City, Oregon; his nephew, Fred Ceroli also of Lincoln City, Oregon.
He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by two of his closest companions, Emma and Nick, the Bayers' Golden Retrievers.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted 1 pm Saturday at the Sanford Ridge United Methodist Church, 1919 Sanford Ridge Rd., Hudson Falls, with the Rev. Rodger White, Pastor officiating.
There are no public calling hours scheduled.
