Troy: Philip Edward “Bucky” Harrington, 71, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Diamond Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born March 21, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Edward and Florence (Walker) Harrington. Known as “Bucky” to his family, Phil was a champion trapper, hunter and fisherman in his younger years. He later moved to the Rotterdam area, where he worked at Union College and The Golub Corp until his retirement. Throughout the area, he was lovingly referred to as “The Tan Man” of Rotterdam and the #1 celebrity, as everyone that passed his house on Broadway would wave or honk their horns to say hello as he sat sunning himself outside his home, in an Adirondack chair given to him by some town employees. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Corlew of Corinth; siblings, Edward Harrington and his wife, Sue, of Warrensburg, Richard Harrington of Colorado, and Pamela Harrington-Scofield of Glens Falls; his close friend, Suzanne Mucci of Duanesburg; He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. At Bucky’s request, there will be no calling hours scheduled. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in Warrensburg Cemetery.
