Ann M. Martindale, 78, formerly of Peaceful Valley Road, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 where she has been residing, at Whitewater Manor, with her loving family by her side.
Born October 3, 1934 in Adirondack, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Lois (Robbins) Floyd.
A lifelong resident of the area, Ann attended Adirondack School. She married Howard N. Martindale on July 7, 1951; the couple cherished 51 years together before Howard’s passing on February 19, 2003.
Throughout the years she was employed by Adirondack Tri-Country Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Copperfield Inn.
Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching baseball, and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves.
Besides her parents and beloved husband, Ann was predeceased by a brother, Harry “Bud” Floyd, Jr.
She is survived by eight children, her sons; Howard Martindale, Jr. and his fiancé, Mandie of South Glens Falls, Ernest Martindale of Warrensburg, Michael Martindale of Sanford, FL, and Rick Martindale and his fiancé, Sherrie of Plattsburgh; four daughters, Lois Dunkley and her husband, Seth of Bakers Mills, Cathy Graves and her husband, Rick of Naples, FL, Deborah Aldous and her husband, Edward of North Creek, and Ann Woodard and her fiancée, Scott Allard of North Creek; two sisters, Olive Monthony of North River, and Eleanor Hosmer of Argyle. Ann also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Carol Pratt of Minerva and Pat Tucker of North Creek.
Friends may call on Ann’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful life will follow the visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Allen, Pastor of the Sodom Community Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Ann’s memory to the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 112 Ski Bowl Road, North Creek, NY 12853.
