Obituary of Roger W. Remington

Warrensburg:
Roger W. Remington, 70, of Burdick Avenue, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness.
Born October 20, 1940 in Thurman, he was the son of the late Forest and Martha (Baker) Remington.
He was a lifelong resident of the area.
Following his graduation from Warrensburg Central School, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge.
He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for 29 years.
Upon his retirement in 1995, Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as watching NASCAR races with his friends and family. He was Dale Earnhardt’s biggest fan and ironically, passed away on the 10 year anniversary of Dale’s death, right down to the minute.
When Roger wasn’t watching NASCAR, he could be found spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Caleb and Cameron.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Robert Remington; and his nephew, Robert Remington.
He is survived by his son, Scott M. Remington and his wife, Carly of Warrensburg; his grandchildren; Caleb and Cameron Remington of Warrensburg; his siblings: Sharon Morrison of Warrensburg; Gerald Remington of Thurman; Terry Beadnell of Thurman; Donna Knickerbocker of Thurman; Michael Remington of NC; and Anita Remington of TX; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Roger’s family from 5 to 8 pm, Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 8 pm, at the funeral home.
Burial will be conducted in the spring in North Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George.
