Obituary of Charles W. Dingman

Thurman: Charles W. Dingman, Jr., 68, of River Road, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 3, 1948 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Charles Dingman, Sr. of Athol and the late Jacqueline (Bandes) Dingman. He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1966. Charlie worked for Warrensburg Board and Paper until the mill closed and he went on to work for Finch Pruyn where he remained for many years. Later in life, he took a job with the town of Thurman at the recycling center for 15 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, drag racing with his brother, Bruce, fishing, and riding his motorcycle and ATV. Besides his mother, Charlie is predeceased by his infant daughter, Saprina, brother, Ryan Dingman and brother-in-law, Simmy Hall. Besides his father, he is survived by his beloved children: Charles Dingman, III and his companion, Robyn Barlow of Athol, Anna Dingman and her companion, John Barton of Warrensburg, and Charlene Dingman and her companion Ray Blanchard of Athol; his grandchildren, Hunter and Zach Mosher, Jeremy Barber, Jordan Dingman, two great-grandchildren, Emmylou and Sianna; his siblings: Linda Hall of Warrensburg, Gail Carpenter of Athol, John Dingman Athol, Debbie Lebrun and her husband, Paul of Glens Falls, Bruce Dingman and his wife, Karen of Athol, and Myra Vopleus and her husband, Donald of Athol; his loving companion Donna Knickerbocker of Thurman; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Charlie’s family from, 12 to 2 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Nathan Herrmann, officiating. Charlie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at the Glens Falls Hospital and Renal Dialysis Center for their care and compassion.
