Obituary of Jeffrey L. Allen

Johnsburg: Jeffrey L. Allen, 54, of garnet Lake Road, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 27, 1961 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Joseph Lee and Daisy (Duell) Allen of Johnsburg. Jeff was a local truck driver for most of his working years and was most recently employed by Adirondack Portable Custom Crushing in Johnsburg. He was a very community minded man, volunteering countless hours with his “second family” at the Johnsburg Fire Company. He was always the first to arrive at the firehouse, eager to take the wheel of “his” truck, Engine 365. Jeff served as President for the fire company for many years and was formerly an Assistant Chief. He also drove ambulance for the Johnsburg EMS. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed the great outdoors on his four wheeler, video games and basically anything with an engine. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Tina Allen of Johnsburg; his two daughters, Jesselee Allen and her significant other, Stephen Willoughby of Glens Falls; Shelby Allen of Johnsburg; his siblings, Laura (Allen) Scoons of Latham, Juanita Gonyo of Minerva, William Allen of TX, and Kevin Allen of Johnsburg, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Jeff’s family from 4 to 6 pm, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 6 pm.
