Obituary of Loretta M. Kelly

Bolton Landing: Loretta Marie (Wood) Kelly, 82, of Stewart Ave., passed away peacefully, Friday, December 23, 2016 at The Warren Center in Queensbury. Born March 14, 1934 in Goshen, she was the daughter of the late Irwin and Mary (Checke) Wood. Loretta moved to the Adirondacks in 1973, where she loved the mountains and nature; her favorite place of all was Keene Valley. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, making dolls, and writing. She was an amazing woman with a heart of gold and the most beautiful smile. She loved spending time with all her family and was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Loretta is predeceased by her husband, George Kelly, a son, Mark Kelly, and siblings, Richard Wood, and Christine Winter. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Kelly of Warrensburg, Valerie (Clyde) LaForge of Bolton, Roger (Cindy) Kelly of Milford, PA, Theresa Searer of Glens Falls, and Todd (Stacey) Kelly of Warrensburg; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Roger Wood of NC, Gloria Wood of Lake George, Robert Wood of TX, Irene Gallagher of CT, and Virginia Zaleski of Monroe. A memorial service will be celebrated at 5 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg.
