Sharon Lee (Blitman) Coleman, 52, passed away, Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 4, 1956 at the St. Albans Naval Hospital in Queens, she was the daughter of Arthur and Barbara (Rosenzweig ) Blitman.
Sharon and her husband, David founded the Fawn Ridge Pottery in 1981. She was a tireless volunteer to many organizations, giving her time to committee’s for special education; as a parent member at the Warrensburg Central School and as an advocate for special needs students throughout Warren County; At Temple Beth El as a religious school teacher; Administrative Association as President of the Sisterhood; and sitting on the Temple Board.
She was wonderful daughter and an avid athlete who loved swimming, tennis, skiing, and golf.
Besides her parents, Arthur and Barbara Blitman of Boynton Beach, FL; Sharon leaves behind her beloved husband of 25 years, David Coleman of Chestertown; her son, Brian Selnick and his wife, Beth of Center Reach; her daughter, Rachel Coleman of Chestertown; her siblings: Penny Taub and her husband, Evan; and Ken Blitman and his wife, Terry; grandson, Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be conducted at 1 pm, today, Dec. 19, at the Temple Beth El, 3 Marion Ave., Glens Falls.
Shiva will be observed and all are welcome at the Coleman residence from sunset on Saturday until sunset on Tuesday.
