Sheila S. Black, 54, of Thompson Street, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, following complications due to surgery.
Born June 23, 1961 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward Francis and Barbara Sue (Delmirer) Sawka.
Sheila’s greatest pleasures in life were her children and grandchildren; they were her pride and joy, and she loved nothing more than spending time with them. She enjoyed barbeques and was always there to help those in need.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her ex-husband, Brian Black.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Black of Queensbury; a son, Thomas Black and his wife, Marci, of Wevertown; seven grandchildren, Alex and Zach Barber, Thomas Remington, and Joshua, Nicholas, Matthew, and Brian Black; two sisters, Debbie Carson and Michele Schoeneberg; nieces and nephews, Michael and Gregory Carson and Terry, Sherry, Ginny, and Shelby Schoeneberg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at 2 pm, Friday, October 8, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
