We were unable to attend the service for Sherm but certainly want you all to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. As you already know, Sherm was a very special individual. We are all better off for knowing him and would do well to attempt to follow his example, for it is not one's words but rather one's actions that identify the man. Years ago I visited Sherm at his shop and asked if he would plane some slabs I wished to make tables from. Not only was he gracious in helping, he showed a strong interest in my work, offering the benefit of his many years of experience and even inviting me into his home to show me a similar project of his own design. His council proved invaluable and I have never looked at one of those tables without thinking of him. Rest In Peace Sherm.
I enjoyed knowing Mr. (and Mrs. LaBounty) for a spell. He was a wonderful man, graceful and charming, ever polite. It was lovely to meet him, a fine man. My thoughts are with his lovely family.
