To Art, Mark, Judy, Janice and all the Brown Family. It will be hard to imagine Warrensburg without Vera. We taught together for a good number of years and she told some of the funniest stories about herself and about her students.
Does anyone remember the project she assigned to illustrate a compound word? The principal had come to see her and told her she should be more careful about what she put up on the wall. She saw absolutely nothing wrong snd he wasn't about to explain. She got me into her room to show me the project and asked if I saw anything wrong with a picture or two. I laughed til my sides about split and when I could talk I explained the reson for the complaint.
Vera's reply "How am I supposed to know about that stuff!!"
She was one of the kindest, smartest, (all be it probably one of the most innocent) people I ever knew.
And how about getting into that uniform from the 1940's every year to march in the parades was awesome in itself, but she was so proud of her service to her country that she really and truly needed to show her pride in this manner.
I beleive her ability to read the most obscure things and understand them was close to scary!
Thanks for the memories and your friendship, Vera.

To Vera's Beloved Art and Family,
Heaven has been truly blessed when our Loving Lord took Vera, Wife and Mom, from her earthly home and placed her with His angels. My sincerest feelings of sorrow and condolence to you all at this time of great loss. I personally was saddened as I read the news, but then immediately remembered all the wonderful days (and lots of laughs!) we shared teaching together for many years at WCS. Vera was one special lady....and will be remembered by so many for her dedication, enormous love and kindnesses. May the same Lord, who came to call her Home, now surround each of you with His loving arms and give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. My love and prayers go out to all the famiy.

I am so sorry for your loss. May "the God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort and soothe your heart. His promises, found in the Holy Scriptures, can offer much hope. It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection. Please allow God's Word to strengthen you and help you to endure this most difficult time.

I sorry to learn of Vera's passing. She was a great lady and teacher. She and I often shared "war stories" of the military and were both proud to have served. My condolences to the family.
