I have pondered and pondered over what to say about George. He was a fine citizen and community leader but he sure did like to pull you leg!
Many a time I fell into his trap and was thoroughly caught. How he would laugh! This is the George I remember and will continue to remember because to me that was George Nemec!
I will also remember his remarkable memory. I could come into the store and say "George, what were those little sweet tomatoes that I got last year?" and he would know. Extraordinary!
I am sure that you all have these kinds of memories and they will sustain you even in sorrow.
Chris,Brooks, Jake & Hunter - be good to your family. Yes, I know that sounds dumb but do it anyway. Now that sounds like an old scshool teacher! Pay attention.
We will all miss him as will the whole town and he will be a hard act to follow but you seem to be doing well in walking in his footsteps.
I'm always here to listen to a good rant if you need to rant or cry or whatever.
Sorry this took me so long -
Love to you all

I have been involved in the Indian Lake children's fishing derby, where what ever we needed to make sure every child received a prize He donated it! Need lime for the Baseball, Football fields George at least split the cost, and tossed in a few extra bags!
He has touched hundreds of lives that I know of. And I was a small part of it.

George's passing is a great loss for Warrensburg and for the entire region. He was so generous, industrious and community-minded -- donating countless hours, money and talent to benefit others.
He was unquestionably one of the outstanding pillars of the community for our generation.
Also, he was able to do what few could -- he built up a thriving business in the Adirondacks, creating jobs for many -- and he won the loyalty and respect of so many for his attributes and accomplishments.
We all will miss him so much.
