Obituary of Mary A. Tarantelli

Warrensburg: Mary A. Tarantelli, 101, formerly of Summit St, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Born August 12, 1911 in Bakers Mills, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Maude (Smith) Galusha. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and married John Tarantelli in 1927. The couple resided in Bakers Mills, before relocating to Geneva. Her husband, John passed away February 2, 1976 after 49 years of marriage. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Warrensburg Central School cafeteria staff for 38 years; working there well into her mid 90’s. Mary was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Warrensburg. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family. Besides her parents and beloved husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Virginia Santolin, Verna Galusha, Rose Winslow, Grace Lackey Morehouse, and Gus, Howard, and Lee Galusha. She is survived by her son, Edward Tarantelli and his wife, Diane of Ashland, PA; her grandchildren, Edward, Jr. and his wife, Anne of Ashland, PA, and Theresa Moses and her husband, Thomas of Reading, PA; and 6 great-grandchildren, Michael, Maura, Dane, Thomas, Leah, and Chad. She also leaves behind a sister, Pearl Rhodes of Corinth, close friend and neighbor, Carol Doyle of Warrensburg, close friends, Mark and Richelene Morey of Warrensburg,as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Mary’s family from 6 to 8 on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg, with Father Paul Cox, officiating.
