Lucy M. Cole, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Westmount Health Care Facility.
Born June 15, 1913 in Warrensburg, Lucy was the daughter of the late Sam and Laura (Ellsworth) Bunker.
Lucy was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years, George Cole and daughters Carol Coombs and Marjorie Czub, her son in law John Coombs and daughter in law Judith Cole.
She is survived by her caring son Thomas J. Cole and his wife, Laurie. Grandchildren: Terry (Delores) Cole, Amy Cole, Andrew (Janelle) Cole, Judy (Doug) Hedges, Thomas G. (Karen) Cole, Phillip (Emily) Cole, Carole (Ken) Vogt, Jenna (Christopher) Benedict, Lindsay and Julia DeSormeau, Tammi Keiser, Tanya (Vinnie) Leddick, Tara (Paul) Sears, Trish (Simon) Gardner, Tom Coombs, Robbie (Kim) Coombs, Lucy (Billy) Dean, Aaron (Michele) and John Czub and 36 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Lucy was an avid walker and well known around the area due to her stunning white hair and quick pace.
She was a devout Christian who loved to travel and had a special affection for her pets and all of God’s creatures. She enjoyed real coffee and cookies along with a good Agatha Christie novel. Her family will forever cherish her feistiness, generosity, kindness and encouragement. She was truly one of a kind.
Friends may call on Lucy’s family from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 10th at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg.
Burial will immediately follow the visitation in Union Cemetery, North Creek.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to North Country Ministries in Lucy’s honor.
