Louise A. Maxam, 73, formerly of Echo Lake Rd., passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her home in Saratoga Springs.
Born September 18, 1937 in Adirondack, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Gertrude (Monroe) Baker Sr.
Louise was a lifelong resident of the area and married George D. “Tinker” Maxam on December 15, 1957.
Louise was active in the local 4H program and taught sewing. She enjoyed attending exhibits at the NY State Fair with her poodle, Cuddles.
In addition to raising her family, Louise enjoyed her time spent working as the Cafeteria Director for many years at Warrensburg Central.
Her favorite pastimes included reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting and spending time with her family and her Siamese cat, Willow.
Besides her parents, and her husband of 45 years, her brother, Ellis Jr, and her sister, Kate have also predeceased her.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Becker and her husband, Harry of Lakeland, FL, Cynthia Rich and her husband, Michael of Saratoga Springs; 6 grandchildren, George Becker and his wife, Renee, Christopher Becker, Karen Vechart and her husband, Justin, Daniel Griffin and his wife, Kim, Kristi Farr and Trinity Rich; four great grandchildren, Khala and Tyree Becker, Kyle and Katelynn Vechart; her sister in law, Eileen Baker; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Louise’s family from 5-7 pm Thursday evening, December 30 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of one’s choice.
