Obituary of Hial P. Hall
Please share a memory of Hial to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Athol:
Hial P. Hall III, 59, of Shanahan Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born on October 11, 1950 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Hial P. II and Virginia Barber-Hamblin Hall.
He was a lifelong resident of the area.
Hial was employed by the Warrensburg Board and Paper Mill, and later worked as a mechanic and groundskeeper for many years.
He had a great appreciation for the outdoors. He was known to fish a little but his true passion was trapping, which he enjoyed very much and continued to do so until his body would no longer allow him to. In his prime, he was one of the best trappers in the area and has probably forgotten more than most could gain in a lifetime. He was also a certified hunting and trapping instructor through Cornell Cooperative Extension for 19 years and worked with various 4H groups during this time.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carol A. (Bartlett) Hall, as well as his three children: Hial P. Hall IV of Lake George; Renee Hall and her companion, Joseph Warrington of Stony Creek; and Andrew Hall and his wife, Evelyn Wood of Thurman; He will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren: Andrew, Destiny, Catherine, and Mable; He is also survived by his loving stepmother, Alma Hall of South Bay; his brother, Anthony Hall and his wife, Carol; sister, Christine LaPlanche; and half brother, Jason Hall; along with several stepbrothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2 pm, Friday, June 4th at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with Rev. Richard C. Leonard, Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church officiating.
Friends may gather one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home to pay their respects.
Hial’s family would like to thank Ernie and Birdie Hopkins who are great friends and have given their great support during his illness. They would also like to thank Aimee McMaster for her personal care and attention, High Peaks Hospice, and the Thurman EMS.
Hial will be missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Thurman EMS or the High Peaks Hospice.
