Amy - For many years I was proud to call Vern my husband. After we grew apart it gave me great comfort knowing he found you and you gave him the family we couldn't have. He had so much talent and love of life to pass on to his children. He always lived for the moment and made the best of any situation. I can remember Vern quoting the Lyrics from a song by Alan Jackson "Might as well share, might as well smile, Life goes on for a little bitty while." I believe he lived his life by those words. My deepest sympathy Amy, Kendall and Gage.
God Bless, Donna Baker

Vern was the most loving, caring, kind, giving man anyone could ever know. Even though we haven't been in contact for many years, it leaves a hole in our hearts. Amy and the gang,
It's with sadness that I say how deeply sorry I am for your family at this time. Vern was a shining example of a loving husband, father, and friend to many.
To say he will be sorely missed is an understatement. For now we can take heart in Jehovah's promises. He is the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, what more could we ask for at this time.
Lean on your faith and hope.
Love, Myra

Amy, Kendal, Gage, Cy, Carter, Casey and all - I'm so sorry for your loss. Of course I knew Vern from way back when we played ball together, and when he was the first one in our class to have a car. And more recently, of course, as part of this big, blended Combs-Baker family. You've all been through so much - far more than your share. Words don't suffice. Sorry I can't be there at this difficult time. But you are all in my thoughts. And I will see you all again soon.
Uncle Dan.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I went to school with Vern, graduated with him and we shared a bungalow on our senior class trip to Bermuda. He introduced me to Lynyrd Skynyrd, BTO and Thin Lizzy.
He was cheerful in all weathers and always walked tall.
Sadly, I had not seen Vern since graduation but the memories will always remain intact.
What a pleasure and privilege it was to have known him.

For many years, we were blessed to call Vern our brother-in-law and our children, Alex and Amy, were thrilled to call him Uncle Vern. We have listened from a distance as the happy news of his second wife and children reached us, and later the sad news of his illness and now untimely death. We hope that the memories of Vern's cheerful spirit and love will linger to comfort those who shall miss him the most. Your loss is heaven's gain. May God comfort and console you until we are all reunited as one big family in heaven.
Sincerely,
Vicky Eddy-Helenek
