Lisa Tucker, 84, of Combs Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Stanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 20, 1926 in Ulm on the Danube, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Rosa (Holzner) Reif.
She met Donald Tucker while he was stationed in Germany and the couple eventually wed on January 21, 1955. After finishing his tour of duty at Fort Dix, the family moved to the North Creek area where they remained for their entire lives.
Lisa was proud of her German Heritage and was a member of the German-American Society as well as the American Legion Auxiliary.
She will be remembered for her love of her family, her famous “Tucker Doughnuts,” and her boisterous laugh.
She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, where she participated in the choir for many years.
When Lisa wasn’t taking care of her family or cooking, she enjoyed knitting, singing at numerous local events including Oktoberfest, camping, and gardening.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Donald Tucker; and her son, Patrick Tucker.
She is survived by her four sons: Gebhard Tucker and his wife, Rosemary of Glenmont; Roland Fuerst and his companion, Susan of Sierra Vista, AZ; Michael Tucker and his companion, Deborah of Rome; and William Tucker and his wife, Mary of Queensbury; her four daughters: Eugena Tucker and her partner, Susan of Schenectady; Elizabeth Robinson and her companion, Rick of Argyle; Monica Millington and her husband, Dale of Riparius; and Helen Tucker and her husband, Jody Stimpson of Fort Edward; her daughter in-law, Lorrie Babbel of Queensbury; her sister, Rosa Notzel of Germany; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Bootsie.
Friends may call on Lisa’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Sunday, December 26, 2010, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted following the visitation at 5 pm with Sister Fran Husselbeck, St. James Parish Life Director, officiating. Members of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will begin the service with an opening prayer.
Lisa’s family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Way of HHHN for his many years of professional care and friendship. They would also like to thank and recognize her dear friend, Evelyn Goodspeed for her companionship.
