TROY
Kathryn M. Baisley, 92, formerly of Thurman, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Troy.
Born August 5, 1919 in Scranton, PA she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Margaret Nell (Wiles) Lewis.
Kathryn met William H. Baisley and the couple wed on July 5, 1947.
Together, Kathryn and William moved to Clinton Hollow where they raised their three children and eventually relocated to the Adirondacks following their retirement, where William built their dream home on River Road in Thurman.
Kathryn enjoyed her retirement traveling with her husband throughout the country.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three brothers: Grant, John and Thomas Lewis.
Kathryn is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, William Baisley; two daughters, Pamela Cannon of South Korea; Deborah Vrba and her husband, Robert Cox of Troy; one son, Jeffery Baisley and his wife, Debra of Elon, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Kathryn’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be conducted 11 am, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman with Rev. Nathan Herrmann, Pastor of the Thurman Baptist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Thurman Baptist Church.
